Appointments

We have recently introduced a new online consultation service. For more information, please see our online services page.

Doctors

Appointments can be booked with a doctor of your choice but if you wish to be seen urgently you will be asked to see the next available doctor.

Triage/Urgent appointments

We operate a triage system for those patients requesting urgent appointments. You will be asked for a few details by the receptionist in order to assess your needs, then will be booked in with the appropriate clinician. You may be offered advice or be invited to attend the surgery. The triage system is the same as that operated at the Primary Care Emergency Centre (GP out of hours).

Walk in sessions

Most Mondays and Wednesdays we have walk-in sessions, start times are generally between 3.30pm and 5pm, this is for emergencies only! We operate a waiting list system so you must telephone in advance to be allocated an emergency appointment. You will be asked to give a brief outline of the problem so we can offer the next appropriate emergency appointment.

Training staff

We have trainee GP’s working at the practice. Trainee GP’s are with us for 4 months at a time and are fully qualified doctors that are gaining the experience of a general practice. We also have medical students that work in the practice that see patients. These are not doctors but are training to become doctors. All trainees have the support of a GP at the surgery. If you do not mind being seen by a student or trainee GP, please let the receptionist know at the time of booking.

Cancellations

If you cannot keep your appointment please notify the surgery as soon as possbile. The telephone number for appointments is 01472 264980.
